The cross is broken reflecting the brokenness of the world and God's brokenness on the cross.

The strands of the cross link the centre with space beyond the cross; they are open ended, channelling the power of the cross to the world and receiving the pain into itself.

The letter 'd' for diakonia is shaped like a water vessel and a towel, bringing the water of life to the weary traveller.
