Welcome to the website of the Diaconal Association of the Church of England.
As I begin a term as President of DACE I am aware that the vocation of Deacon is often hidden and unrecognised by the Church. I pray that I may work to bring networks and relationships within and beyond the organisation to engage in a fruitful way with the Church's agenda of mission and prophetic outreach.
To this end we need to hear every Deacon's story both for mutual encouragement and support but also that the Deacon's ministry is better understood within the Church.
If you are a distinctive deacon please visit the new blog on the DACE website and tell your story.
In His service,
Deacon Ann Wren (President)
“Essential to the Church's mission are two dynamics: sending and gathering. We have not been good at doing equal justice to these vital movements of the Church's life and a re-visioned Diaconate can, in a time of great change, help to hold them together.”
